In early May, 34 archaeology students from the course ‘Knowledge, Technology and Craft’ at the Saxo Institute, University of Copenhagen, worked on reconstructing a "hole belt" (hulbælte) at Sagnlandet Lejre.

Under the guidance of craftsman Lucas Overvad, the students reconstructed wooden spades, excavated a reconstructed "hole belt" from 2014, constructed a new one and, among other things, carried out experiments on storing food in the holes.

Videnskab.dk has written an article about the experiment.
